Worcester, Massachusetts: Nourse & Company, Circa 1855. Unbound. This 2-page illustrated broadsheet, issuded by Nourse & Company, is printed on bifold paper that measures 16.5” x 10.5” unfolded. It features two large illustrations of mower models on the front. A sales circular is printed on an inside page. It is enclosed in its mailing envelop, which bears a circular "Paid" Boston postmark. In nice shape.

The top illustrations (7” x 3.5”) shows a man operating a two-horse mower. The lower image (5” x 2.75”) shows a one-horse mower. The accompanying text reads in part:

Manny’s Improved Premium Mower.

and

Combined Reaper and Mower.

Patented 1851, ’52, ’53, and ’54.

It also includes pricing information (ranging from $90 to $130 each) along with a list of accessories that are included with a purchase: 2 Scythes, 2 extra Sections, 2 extra Guards, a Wrench , and an Oil Can.

The inside sales circular refers customers to the “Eagle Agricultural Warehouse and Seed Store” located on Commercial Street in Boston. It reads in part:

“We beg leave to invite your attention to our large and newly selected Stock of Agricultural and Horticultural Implements and Machines, Garden, Grass and Field Seeds, which we offer at the lowest market prices.

“Our stock has been selected with the greatest care to meet the wants of the trade. . ..

“Should you not be visiting the city, would be pleased to receive your orders, which shall be executed at the lowest prices.”
