This is a terrific photographic slice of post-World War II American culture. The Rochester Rockets homecoming parade (in advance of its football game with the Red Wing Wingers) was truly a product of the early atomic age when the United States was the only nuclear power and Russia had yet to develop the bomb. Floats included several rocket ships and an atom factory; a float banner and one of the booster tags proclaim, "At-Om Rockets."
