J. Edgar Hoover Autograph Letters and More
Washington, D.C. 1944. Unbound. A small collection of J. Edgar Hoover autographed typed letters and other documents relating to the employment of a clerk-typist at the FBI in 1944-1945.
The collection includes:
Two typewritten letters to the applicant, both signed by Hoover in ink,
A file copy of a memorandum regarding income tax returns with a J. E. Hoover signature stamp,
The employee's application for federal employment,
The employee's fingerprint card,
A file copy of a letter regarding the fingerprints with a J. E. Hoover signature (possibly a handstamp),
An Efficiency Rating for the employee with a J. E. Hoover signature stamp,
A copy of the employee's resignation form,
A copy of a color glamour photograph of the employee at the time of her employment, and
Unused pieces of Hoover's official FBI onionskin stationery. Generally very nice condition.
Most items have small (nickel-sized) remnants of scrapbook paper in the upper reverse corners. The employee application and fingerprint card have considerable insect/rodent damage. Very Good. Item #008377
